DealMaven® provides tools that enable analysts to gather, analyze, check and present quantitative data more efficiently and at lower cost. DealMaven’s productivity enhancing add-ins for Microsoft® Excel, PowerPoint and Word help firms improve data integrity and consistency and present analyses with consistent formatting and branding. The Company also offers web-based financial analysis training that has been used by several leading investment banks.
DealMaven was formed in 1999 by a group of technologists and former investment bankers, with assistance from Wharton professor Robert Holthausen. Management saw an opportunity to offer productivity-enhancing software for bankers, consultants, accountants, marketers and other professionals who analyze and present quantitative data. In 2000 the Company completed its first two rounds of financing and in 2001 raised an institutional round led by Lehman Brothers.
DealMaven’s management team is distinguished by its dual expertise in quantitative analysis and XML-based data management:
Quantitative analysis: Financial modeling, forecasting, valuation, transaction analysis, capital budgeting and market analysis
XML-based data management: Associating contextual information with data items (as XML metadata) to allow the automated transfer, interpretation and manipulation of data across applications, documents and databases
Leveraging this dual expertise, DealMaven has developed three commercial applications:
FastTrack for Excel: Excel productivity add-in
Financial Analysis Knowledge Base: Online corporate finance training resource
PresLink: Mirosoft PowerPoint and Word productivity add-in
